Events and Information Happenings Educational Events — Click Here. Information New for 2008 Free Dance Lessons With all this great swingin’ music, isn’t it time you dusted off your jitterbug and hit the dance floor? For the first time, the Festival is offering free dance instruction, so your excuses are gone! Your Festival badge (any session) gets you in for a free, one-hour group dance lesson. Bring your dancing shoes to the Elks Lodge ballroom at 2:15 Friday afternoon. Then be ready to show what you’ve learned as the incredible Benny Goodman sound of After Midnight fills the ballroom beginning at 3:30. Five More Sets on Friday Following the Education Presentation from noon to 2:00 Friday, the Elks Lodge patio will open at 2:15 with the Rain Dogs, and After Midnight will open the Elks Lodge ballroom at 3:30, following the free dance instruction. Both stages will continue the rest of the afternoon, making it the biggest, fun-filled Friday in Festival history! See the schedule for details and be sure to join in! Be a Volunteer! One of the critical elements in the Festival's success is the incredible work done by some 100 volunteers. Without their dedication and performance, the Festival simply would not happen. Every year our friendly volunteers receive compliments and kudos from audiences and musicians alike. Our volunteers make everything run smoothly, and their contribution is greatly appreciated! If you'd like to explore volunteer opportunities for 2008, please call Nancy at 303-526-1263 or the other Nancy at 303-674-8107. As a thank you, all volunteers receive a very special ticket discount. Jazz up Your Estate Plan You can help assure the longevity of the Festival by including it as a beneficiary in a charitable trust. This increasingly popular gifting strategy can increase the benefits of your gift, both to the Festival and to yourself. Festival supporter and former board member Dave Rommelmann is an expert on charitable trusts and will be happy to help you determine how you might take advantage. You can contact him at |
