Again this year, the Festival will open with a two-hour Educational Concert. In the past, concerts have been given by such notables as John Royen, Louis Ford, James Dapogny, Hank Troy & Wende Harston, Jeff Barnhart and many others. This year’s is currently being developed. Details will announced as they become available. The concert is free and open to the public and takes place at noon Friday, July 26 in the Elks Lodge Ballroom.
Sunday Gospel Service
One of the annual Festival highlights is the Sunday Gospel Service featuring the Queen City Jazz Band and vocal great Wende Harston. The service starts at 9:15 Sunday, July 28 and is open to the public. Plan to arrive early as it is usually SRO.
Each Festival day begins with a one-hour dance lesson in the Elks Ballroom. Lessons are taught by professional instructors and are open to all ticket holders.
